ith a background in biochemistry and mathematics as well as music, Julian Revie
works at the interface of music and technology, using a broad array of hardware and software tools to inspire, create and record both sacred and concert music.
Julian holds degrees in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics from Yale and Caltech; a diploma in piano performance from the Royal
Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada; and a Master's in Music from Cambridge University, where he directed the Robinson College Choir and wrote
Unity and Uniqueness in the Fifth Mode Responsories: New Approaches to the Multifaceted Layers of Plainchant Melody, a Schenkerian-based analysis of
plainchant from the tenth to fourteenth centuries.
From 2004 to 2011, he served as Music Systems Analyst at Lake Avenue Church in Pasadena, California, where he oversaw a wide variety
of music technology and audio systems initiatives, including the design and installation of a state of the art MIDI interface on the church's Casavant pipe
organ. Julian is also an accomplished pianist and organist, as well as a composer and arranger of vocal and instrumental works.
